The Hiking Household road test our Warm Wellies

Welly wanderers

We always like to include real people in our photos and our welly testing adventures - so when we met Laura we were really excited to see how much time she spends wandering outdoors with her four children. We asked her to write a guest blog about her adventures, so she's written this for you. Hope you enjoy reading it.

For anyone that isn’t aware of The Hiking Household all that you really need to know is that we are a family of 6 who all LOVE to be outside. Our four small children spend every second they can outside, playing in becks, exploring woodland and climbing Wainwright’s in the Lake District.

One thing many people ask me time and time again is: what do your children wear on their feet? Quite honestly it has taken six years of searching, swapping, twining about cold feet, moaning about wet feet and complaining about sore feet but … dare I say it… for the last few months we have had ZERO complaints!

The culprit – Warm Wellies! These neoprene lined wellies have proven to be a huge huge hit with my little ones. From the second that they tried them on I knew they would be a success, my eldest proudly announced “these are SOOOOOO comfy” in his typical dramatic style.

If anyone is going to make me aware of blisters, cold toes or welly rash on the back of his legs it will be my eldest. So far, nothing! He has said absolutely nothing negative about these wellies, and this is impressive considering how many miles he has done in them! My children even wear these wellies to bike in so they really must be comfy!

These neoprene lined wellies have some incredible properties – they are not only insulating but more importantly, they are comfortable to wear too. You can see the lovely, thick layer of neoprene that offers warmth and protection for little toes. We have been through MANY pairs of wellies from a range of brands and we are amazed that we have managed to find a brand that not only keeps the kids' toes warm but also offers extreme comfort! They have great grip and, so far, are proving very resilient. My daughter even tried to sleep in hers one evening!

Overall, my children and I give a strong thumbs up for these beautifully made neoprene-lined wellies. They come in two colours – green and purple, which just happen to be two of my children’s favourite colours! These wellies could have been designed especially for us.

For any families who enjoy the outdoors and love walking in the woods or exploring the countryside I highly recommend you purchase some Warm Wellies! If you would like to see my family and me in action please do follow us on www.thehikinghousehold.com @thehikinghousehold  and see for yourself the adventures these wellies get up to!
