Stepping up support – Warm Welly Company pledges wellies to R.A.B.I awareness campaign

The Warm Welly Company, based at Walton in Cumbria, is stepping up their support to R.A.B.I (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution), by donating Warm Wellies for their annual awareness ‘#wellyweek2019’ campaign.

During the last twelve months Simon Wood, owner of The Warm Welly Company, has been building stronger links with R.A.B.I and was keen to be involved in #wellyweek2019 which runs 26th October to 3rd November and coinsides with the half term holidays.

The awareness campaign runs on R.A.B.I social media platforms: Facebook (@rabicharity1) and Instagram/Twitter (rabicharity).

As well as offering giveaways for #wellyweek, Simon has promised Warm Wellies for R.A.B.I events right across the UK to help their fundraising activities in the run up to Christmas.

Commenting on the R.A.B.I link up, Simon Wood said “With a harsh working environment, wet weather and difficult markets, farming folk are under a huge amount of pressure.

“As a welfare charity, R.A.B.I offers financial support to farming people of all ages in hardship, whether they are working or retired, or are unable to work through illness or disability. The #wellyweek campaign aims to increase awareness of what they do and we’re keen to help share that message.

“R.A.B.I is also asking people to raise funds for the farming community by organising welly walks, welly themed events, hosting welly-wanging competitions and getting creative with scary welly Halloween parties. The fundraising team have lots of ideas and are encouraging people to get in touch by emailing info@rabi.org.uk or visiting the welly week website page www.rabi.org.uk/welly-week-2019 .

During #wellyweek, we’ll be helping them encourage people to take pictures wearing wellies - it’s been so wet we’re expecting a lot of wellies squelching in mud – and we’re hoping to see some kids working wonders with Halloween pumpkins too!”
