Warm Wellies for cold temperatures

A good pair of warm wellies can protect toes from the cold well below freezing

In the UK we do sometimes get cold weather that is well below freezing, but not as often as in places like Canada where it can be anywhere from -15 to -40 degrees depending on where you live. Our wellies can cope with freezing temperatures, but it doesn't often get much below freezing for very long in the UK.

Our climate is temperate and our weather may be unpredictable, but extremes of temperature are rare. ( I know we have just had a very hot spring and a very wet December, but on average, seasons are fairly even year to year).

Average winter temperatures are above freezing, but as we were asked what is the lowest temperature that our wellies will still keep you warm? we thought we'd have a look at the weather and our wellies.

We checked with our manufacturers and our wellies are fine as low as -10 degrees - and we don't get prolonged weather that cold here in the UK so your wellies will do the job just fine!

Did you know that winter is now 1-degree centigrade warmer than it was in the 1950's? and that is why we get a lot less frost and snow than in the past.

January average temperatures are 7 degrees centigrade - but there was a record low of -26.1 degrees in Sutherland (1995) and Braemar (1982 & 1995)

In 2023, the coldest day was Thursday 19th January at 8.47am in Drumnadrochit, near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands,  - it hit minus 10.4C ! So you can see, our Warm Wellies can cope with the low temperatures here in the UK.

The best reasons to buy our Warm wellies are:

  1. Neoprene lined - 4mm of neoprene in all our adult and kids Warm Wellies
  2. Super comfy
  3. Good grips
  4. Kids wellies have reflective strips
  5. Adult wellies are in the sale (Jan 2024) - 25% off

In contrast, the hottest temperature in the UK last year was 33.5 degrees centigrade, and the year before - on 19th July 2022, the hottest temperature was 40.3 degrees C.
